Me and my lens at one with nature. . .

Staring competition

Gotta love the Squirrels… However: I do love Squirrels and how numerous they are, how you can see them all over the place without much looking required. In Scotland and the UK for that matter are not native. Most people would think of these animals being a part of our wildlife and that they have always been here. Red Squirrels are our native Squirrel and they are in dire need of our help. It is humans that thought of the Reds as a pest and started culling, and then the Grey Squirrel came along from America and stared out competing our wonderful Red.

I would love it if people started thinking more about what is native to our lands rather than just what they see. I know it seems harsh, but really when you think about it Britain is FULL of species from other countries.Introduced species such as Rabbit (a tad unbelievable to most…), Brown Rat, and Fallow Deer, Mink (a huge problem to birds and species of our country and including Iceland), Ferrett, Edible Dormouse and MANY more. We have lost what was once ours and instead of “intoducing” species that are not “originally” belonging, why dont we bring back the species that matter!

Wintery Wilderness

Another one from home! Just outside my home there are some woods and almost (not now due to uni) everyday i would go out and shoot some things with my camera.
Something simple like going for a walk every once in a while you will be rewarded with something as beautiful as this sunset that i was treated to. So everyone get out there with your cameras and start shooting at home and you will start to realize theres a lot more that meets the eye! And be quick.. because who knows how much of our worlds wilderness will be left in the years to come!

I really hope everyone has had an awesome new year and fantastic Christmas, and i wish you all the best in this new year!
Peace!

If you could check out my Facebook that would be amazing! 😀 www.facebook.com/ryanawardphotography

A Watchful Eye

A Speckled Caimen in Bolivia

A Speckled Caimen in Bolivia

Something You Should Think Of

Something special can occur if luck is on your side. A small example is just how well the water around this Caimen swirled and became something of an eye pleaser. This can happen with life in many ways. Just hold out, think positively and good things will come your way. Feel negative about it all, all you will get is something nowhere near as good as you want it to be.

It all seems hard to imagine that people who are not photographers may take photography as a hobby rather than a passion or an art. It is something that many of us photographers have an urge for, something that drives us just to keep on snapping. I’m trying to become a nature and wildlife photographer, and the challenges that are associated are sometimes unbelievable (despite the fact that im basically just starting out).

Having a drive to do something is something that you should just do and put that foot down and get going full speed!

Im wanting to become a pro wildlife photographer, and im still not really 100% sure in how to proper get my name out there. So if anyone sees this and can relate to what I said, if anyone can give me some advice that would be awesomes! 😀 Cheers!

Pampas Deer (Ozotoceros bezoarticus)

Pampas Deer taken in the Barba Azul conservation reserve in Bolivia. Pampas Deer are a threatened species due to the human need for land. Humans are the most successful predator in the world, but this has come at a very high price and this price is our world itself. The world is becoming too small for our needs and rather that make an attempt to fix this we look to other places to colonize and make a new home. We colonize and we destroy, its in our nature and this is why something has to be done to create a life where humans and nature can live together.
